Undergarments (U1 to U6)

U1 Underskirt, long, in fine cotton. Draw strings, elastic added, net lace bands, pintucks on bias, broderie anglaise bands lacking ribbon

U2 Plain drawers, darted, wide gusseted, large stitches.

U3 Bed jacket, white cotton, 1910-1920s; scalloped edge with regular alternating eyelet motifs, cut straight without darts in three pieces.

U4 Plain underskirt/shift cutty sark.

U5 Plain underskirt/shift, cutty sark. Feather stitch neck and sleeve edging.

U6 Camisole, fine cotton with seven pearl buttons. Pintucks in three bands shaping underbust to waistband, back similarly shaped. Embroidered sprigs and initials. Peplum in plain fabric. Mrs Limond gave this piece to Mrs Bryson in 1970s, reputed to have been made by Margaret Carnegie herself and passed via maid to Mrs Limond.
