YVONNE PEDRETTI is a textile artist who has exhibited in the UK and overseas and particularly in London and the south east of England, where she lives and teaches different aspects of embroidery. She has a particular interest in whitework and has produced a range of experimental work in this area. She met MURIEL HIGGINS twenty years ago when they were both members of the London Quilters. Muriel was born in Ayrshire and now lives in Stirling after many years overseas. A retired text-book writer who dabbles in many handcrafts, she is currently most involved in hooking rag rugs and making tassels. The two get together most summers in Scotland and bicker amicably as they explore places of craft interest. Yvonne’s research in whitework and Muriel’s residence in Scotland led to an initial contact with Mrs Bryson at an Embroiderers’ Guild Scotland meeting in Stirling. As a result, Yvonne and Muriel offered to catalogue the Ayrshire collection.
