This website chronicles the build of my Marlin Sportster. My is based on a 1989 LHD 325 with 170,000 miles on the clock (but one owner with full BMW service history!)

Like most kit car builds not everything is going entirely to plan so I have noted the mistakes I have made and the problems I have had in the hope that it will help other builders.

Marlin themselves provide telephone help during the build but I have found the best help comes by talking to other builders and seing what they have done.

The plan is to take plenty of pictures - one of the difficulties with building a BMW based Sportster is the Marlin currently supply the build manual for the Ford version plus a CD with some pictures. Although this is very helpful there are some area's that are not covered very well.

This is the third kit car I have built although the previous two (a Dutton and a Triumph based Marlin) were 20 years ago. The plan is to finish it before I am 50, but I am not owning up to when that is!

Progress so far!
