Crumbling
You,
You could enlighten me,
Could draw me into wisdoms
In which you abide, all day, all night,
Could read to me,
Could share with me your treasured volumes,
Copies old, unloosing leaves.
I feel
So low,
So far beneath you,
Why would I then wrap my arms about you?
Better far that I should nod
And step aside
And let you rise,
Unhindered,
Free,
Untainted.

Cemetery
Deep, dark, green leaves of shining ivy flash,
Reflecting sudden fire
As you light up in front of me
And smoke.
Delightful stenching coils
Cast sulky sensual spells around me,
Blessing, this,
My moment,
This, my chance
To slip away,
To hide away from all and everyone
But
You and these few angels carved
In old stained stone.
Aye, blessing,
Look, look at the veins in these wet leaves,
At the yew
And holly tree,
At you
As you hold me
Close.
Comfort, deep, in the slide.
