Job Description: |
The main part of this role involves liaising
closely with the sales / marketing teams and customers / suppliers
to produce schematic and proposal drawings in 2D and 3D format for
client review and internal design reviews. This role also heavily
involves the creation of 2D AutoCAD engineering drawings, 3D animations
and photo rendered illustrations of products and services, mainly
focusing in the offshore oil and gas and defence markets. In addition
to the main responsibilities of this role I also design and maintain
control over product maintenance manuals for the equipment sold
and work on company proposals for tender. This is in paper and electronic
format. All techniques utilise the latest multimedia authoring capabilities,
this includes 'hyper linking' from the main text to reference drawings
and OEM information, a linked TOC (Table of Contents) to the main
text body that further enhances the clients navigation capability.
The information can be presented with full 3D exploded drawings
that include a 'hyperlinked' BOM (Bill of Materials). All information
is searchable and bookmarked for further ease of navigation. |

Responsibilities: |

• To create and produce company animations
related to company products |

Achievements: |
• Setting up a new internal multimedia
department, complete oversee of budget spends and implementation,
evaluating and procuring 3D design software. |

• Drawings and illustrations being used
for NATO and Rolls-Royce presentations. Animations been aired on
BBC ‘News at 10’, ‘Newsnight’ and ‘Tomorrows
World’. These were shown as part of the new NATO submarine
rescue system due to come in to service Sept 2007. |

• Been heavily involved in the design of
the new NATO Rescue Submarine, in particular the pilots ergonomics
and control station design layout. |

• Spending 9 months in Romania designing
and supporting manufacture of two Submarine ‘Launch and Recovery'
A-Frame systems. Details include, all production drawings, oversee
of manufacture and maintaining weight and Centre of Gravity calculations. |

• Graduation from part time degree course
at Leeds Metropolitan University |
