The show was recorded at The Horn of Plenty, St. Albans, Hertfordshire on 7th April 1980.  I’ve recorded there several times, both officially and otherwise, and it has exceptionally fine acoustics.

The equipment used was a borrowed Hitachi ghettoblaster (model unknown), Unisound EM83 electret microphones and a TDK SD C90 cassette.

The sound is a bit harsh and the auto level recording control on the Hitachi has squeezed the dynamic range, but it’s not a bad listen.
There are some tuning problems in the second take of Hollywood, with the synth sounding noticeably flat, but it’s still a great show.

What a band!

NEW!!  I’ve just blagged some extra web space, enough to make a few tracks from the show available as MP3 downloads.   Have a look here.
