When I managed to blow the engine in the 405 LeMans, I was suddenly in need of a car - not that I didn't have a few, but they were all off the road. A friend needed rid as he had just moved house and had no space, so it was mine for £50 - 12months MOT as well.
It was horribly dirty, but after a good clean, and the fitment of a half reasonable stereo it was put into service. It had some great oddities, like having to press a button to get the keys to come out of the ignition barrel!
The 3 speed auto box did struggle a bit, and it wasn't much good on mpg, but there was something likeable and unassuming about it. It even had electric windows, mirrors, and remote fuel filler release!
Then the 205 Mi16 came up on ebay - I probably should have left it there as well and kept the Colt, which I sold to my sister in law who ran it round in London until a better option became available. It was then sadly scrapped.
