I bought this Cortina from a distant relative in order to replace the front crossmember of my then road car/rally car. I'd bumped a curb hard on my way to winning the Buxton Springs scatter in March '93, and that along with the wheel had suffered.
I drove it around the haystack on my uncles farm before it ran out of petrol and was then stripped for parts.
It cost £40 which I though was a bit steep considering it's advaned state of rust!, however it served it's purpose and the twin choke weber was also pressed into service on my car as well.
Cousin Philip (center picture - the clean one) had a Mk2 Escort at the time for driving round the farm yard - he had the right idea. I do look a bit dirty there! Beccy the dog is still alive.
