At the beginning of the 1990s we saw the last few remnants of the longer-length hemlines, as shorter length skirts came back into fashion, although just above or below the knee styles were also considered acceptable, particularly for dressy or party-wear. This was also a time when lightweight poly. georgettes and crepe-de-chines became popular for mainstream wear.
