Simple rules of thumb with our hire garments:

Do NOT rely on the original size allocated to the garment. As we all know, sizes even vary today from manufacturer to manufacturer.

Hips measurements are seldom made with pleated skirts, thus are not normally specified.

A fair percentage of our garments have elasticated waists which allows them to fit more than one size - the other measurements permitting of course.

Use our picture to the right to determine how we measure our hire items. We measure the garment with it laid flat on a table or floor. We then double this measurement and now have a good idea of each dimension. With elasticated waists we measure with the elastic relaxed and with it extended to approaching half of it’s maximum length.(Giving two separate measurements).

A reliable way of telling if one of our garments will fit a particular person is to apply the above method of measuring to a well-fitting garment already belonging to the person the hire item is meant to be for. Now compare these measurements to the ones we will supply.
