Back to Spain LLAFRANC Top
This was built on the old Roman town of Cypsela and is a pleasant whitewashed seaside resort. The secluded bay contains a good beach and marina surrounded by some elegant villas. It is on the GR92 coastal path and is a good centre for walking along this long distance route.

The botanical gardens at Cap Roig were created by Nicolai Woevodsky and his British wife, Dorothy Webster, around the castle in the 1920's.

An attractive resort that has kept much of its charm despite becoming a popular resort. It used to be a port for the shipping of cork from nearby Palafrugell.

From the 18th century onwards Palafrugell was important because of the cork industry, and a cork museum can be found in the town.

A beautiful hilltop medieval village with plenty to see. Views from the town's ramparts are spectacular both towars the Montgri mountains and the Medes Islands.

 

Back to Spain BEGUR Top
One of the larger villages close to the coast with good coastal walks nearby. The castle perched on a rocky outcrop offers magnificent views of the area and was built in the 16th. century.

 

Back to Spain TAMARIU Top
This is one of the smallest and least developed resorts in the area. It has a fine sandy beach and is surrounded by the pink rocks which are typical of the area.

 

Back to Spain CALAPEDROSA Top
A small cove on the GR 92 path. Quite a steep path leads down to the small pebbly beach but worth the effort.

A beautiful little village with a fine beach. A fine coastal path leads round to Aiguafreda..

A popular beach with divers - there is a diving school based here. The beach itself is almost non existant but there are smooth rocky areas to sit and watch the world go by.
