Crown & Mitre
The Crown & Mitre - Bampton Grange

Turn off the A6 at Shap heading towards Haweswater. This small pub is in an equally small but extremely picturesque village. Sit outside on a summer evening listening to the birds sing and the chiming of the clock tower of St Patricks church opposite - wonderful.A former coaching inn which has had a new landlord since October 2002 and is a popular stopping off point on the coast to coast walk.
Plenty of good walks in the area. We went on a good 6 mile circular walk from the pub to Haweswater - back in time for opening at 5 o' clock.(Walk from "Best pub walks in the Lakeland fringes - Neil Coates")

Beers include :- Abbot Ale; Boddingtons; Stella etc..
