14th Annual Exhibition

Made to Fit

The Willis Museum,

Basingstoke

March 20th to 17th April 2010

Thank you for your interest in the 2010 WomenÕs Work exhibition, Made to Fit. Following last yearÕs success, the exhibition will be un-themed and once again we are inviting submission of a large number of very small pieces. It is our intention to select work by women on a very broad range of themes and in many different media. The only restriction is that 3D work should be no more than 150mm in each dimension and that each 2D work will be small enough to be shown in a standard CD case.

Gallery Address

The Willis Museum, Market Place, Basingstoke, Hampshire RG21 7QD

Please note: Do not send your submissions direct to the gallery

Exhibition Dates

20th March to 17th April 2010, Monday to Friday 10 till 5 and Saturday 10 till 4.

Private View

A private view will be held on Friday 19th March from 6.30 till 8.30.

What work to submit

We invite submission of art by all women in any medium and on any theme. There is a size limit.

3D work: Will be displayed in cabinets and must not exceed 150mm in height, width or depth.

2D work: The image may be smaller, but as we shall display the work in CD cases, we ask you to mount it to fill 125mm (h) x 118mm (w) and no deeper than 3mm. Please note that all 2D work will be hung in portrait format.

It is not necessary to supply the work in a CD case as we shall provide those.

Fee

There is no charge to submit your work.

A handling fee of £15 will be charged for each artist whose work is selected regardless of the number of pieces chosen. A cheque for this amount, made payable to WomenÕs Work, should be sent with your submission. Unselected artists will have their cheque returned with their work.

Return of Work

We shall use your packing materials to return your work. Please supply a return address label and enough postage to cover the return of your work (stamps or paid postage label).

Closing Date

Closing date is 14th February 2010, Valentines Day.

Please send actual unframed work, not just images of the work, to the address at the end of this fact sheet (also on the form).

You should include:

1.     Up to 4 pieces of work labelled on the back or base with your name and the number (1-4) that is on the application form. Please indicate the top of the work on the back.

2.     Completed application form.

4.     Cheque for £15 made payable to WomenÕs Work.

Selling Price

Notification

Selected artists will be notified by email  by 6th March and  unselected artists will have their work returned in early March.  In the event of  some, but not not all, of an artists work being selected, the unselected pieces will be returned at the end of the exhibition with any unsold work.
