Interim Management is one alternative to using Management Consultants, or recruiting permanent staff. The major advantages are that: - Management stays directly in control, with the Interim personally responsible for the results. - Solutions are not just found but implemented. Action is usually faster and more effective with the Interim focused on achieving the specific task, not on identifying further consulting 'opportunities'. Interim Management is not the latest Transatlantic 'fad'. It is said to have started in Holland, to circumnavigate European employment laws, arriving in the UK about 12 year's ago. It can be a very effective tool, but needs specialised knowledge and experience to be really effective. An updated guide is currently published by the CBI every year pubsales@cbi.org.uk, which provides useful background information. Company ProfileThe first assignment, for Husky Computers, was completed in 1986. The business became Manufacturing Business Advantage in 1994, and Manufacturing Executive Ltd. in 1997. Assignments have been completed for both PLC's and SME's, with rates reflecting the role and experience required. Why use us? - We will commit to supporting your business project or cover a role for as long as you want us to. - We do not require any forward commitment in return and work on a day to day basis if required. - We can also work on a 'payment by results basis' if required, or to a fixed budget for a project. - Our charges are typically 25% to 30% less than the major agencies, as our overheads are far lower. - We don't pretend to be able to support any type of business or role, just manufacturing businesses.
'I would like to thank you sincerely for the way you handled the assignment, which I believe has formed an excellent base to take the company forward'. David Grove, CEO Hill & Smith PLC. 6th October 2000 '...contribution to the project was invaluable......ability to home in on critical issues and resolve any problems arising are quite outstanding..' Tony Cookson, Group Chief Executive, Hadleigh plc. 23 September 1997 'I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your significant contribution to the Guide'. (CBI's Guide to Interim Management) Bill Penney, Managing Director, Ashton Penney Partnership, 31st October 2000 'an experienced interim automotive production manager with good people management skills. In a nine month assignment, he improved morale and significantly increased production to meet higher sales demand' The Interim Issue No. 8 - Autumn 1998 |
