| During 1966 MRC used very cheap coloured paper with a coarse surface, this renders some articles and drawings difficult to read or use. |
| While on the subject of MRC, the MODEL RAILWAY CONSTRUCTOR SPECIAL No.7 DRAWINGS REFERENCE BOOK. While useful as a starting point (it got me started cataloguing, so thank you Clive Carter and MRC), it needs to be treated with care. A very small number of entries are incorrect, mostly dates or magazine. For those that are interested my current list of Southern related items is at MRC SPECIAL No.7 LISTING together with the entries for which I do not hold copies of. Please do not take this as having a go at MRC as it takes courage to embark on an enterprise such as this which invites comment and criticism and as I know, a considerable number of years. Further in pre-computer days we worked with paper lists and mistakes do creep in. So if you find an entry of mine that you know is wrong please let me know. I will check with my copy of the magazine in question to find the answer. Also you may find of related interest MRC Drawing Service List as of December 1967. |
