Young Aviators:
Young Aviators is the successor to Young Eagles
which was an initiative set up by the Experimental Aircraft Association
in the USA to provide air experience flights for children with the
target of a million flights by the end of 2003. The initiative was
embraced by the Popular Flying Association in the UK and Mid Kent
Strut, 1996 saw the first Strut "Young Eagles" event (84 children taken
flying from Headcorn on May Bank Holiday Sunday) and events have been
held each year since apart from 2001 where foot & mouth disease
caused cancellation.

Fly-Ins, Fly-Outs And Other
Events:
The Strut tries to organise a Fly-Out
each year where members are invited to fly en-masse to an event or
airfield, sometimes within the UK and sometimes over the "ditch" to a
Continental airfield. For a listing of our forthcoming events and
meetings, see our events
page.
