Minimum Theatre is an ecumenical drama group  based in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire that specialises in updated and unusual treatments of Bible material, and takes them on mini-tours to local churches .
Richard Adams is a retired primary school Head teacher with long experience in writing books, plays, staging school productions and directing and performing in Amateur Theatre. An award winning amateur actor, he now writes, directs and performs in Minimum Theatre’s productions. In November 2008 he was engaged in his first professional appearance in Lantern Theatre Company’s Theatre in Education production “Flashpoint” by Susie Pottiinger at West Wimbledon Primary School, Raynes Park, London.
Minimum Theatre was formed  in 2002 and  performed its first production - Easter Weekend -  in  2003.  Since then the group has staged at least one play a year, plus shorter pieces as invited.  Richard would be delighted to see his plays gain audiences beyond Leicestershire, and believes that his work makes religious material more accessible to a secular audience while at the same time giving traditional church congregations something to think about.  He was agreeably surprised that the production of Anna Gabriel - a nativity Play, but not as you know it - had its most enthusiastic response with  a non-church audience.  This play was published by Jasper Publishing in October 2008.
