Just getting to the event could be fun!Trailquest Winter Series 2007 / 2008

Sadly, due to lack of willing event organisers, there will be no series this year. There were only going to be 2 events in what started out 3 years ago as a 6 event series. If there is to be a MCMTB series of any sort in future years, the sport of Trailquesting needs YOU to contribute and share the workload.

Many hands make light work, Other helpers are always required to organise, do tea & refreshments, collect controls and tidy up afterwards etc. The tca have now produced a slimine guide for organisers which can be downloaded from the tca website here (50kb word.doc).

Needless to say, event organisers and volunteers are required for a possible 2008 / 2009 series, apply via e-mail on the homepage.

Parking:- There may be a short distance from the event centre to where you have to leave your car. (please follow signs / marshals instructions) Be considerate to local residents.

Map / Event Format
All competitors will be provided with a colour A3 large scale map of the event area, bagged and fully marked up at the start. Master maps will also be displayed showing out of bounds areas prior to starting.

Expect to get gloves cold and wetYour aim is to cycle and navigate to as many of the 30 checkpoints as possible and to return to the event centre within 3 hours. A SportIdent electronic box will be located at each control site and you must insert your dibber until a beep is heard. Control sites can be found by the descriptions handed out, and some checkpoints will also be marked with red and white tape. Should you fail to get the signal from the SI box, note down the 3 letters written on the SI unit and report at the finish.

On the Day Procedure
Registration will be open from somewhere around 10am - please sign in ASAP and collect your list of control descriptions, then you can go for a warm up ride before starting.

A SportIdent dibberWe will be using SportIdent electronic equipment, which most of you will be familiar with by now, if in doubt ask at registration. You will need to hire a SI Dibber for the event if you do not already have one. Collect your dibber as you register, you will be asked to clear and check it before you start, make sure you download as soon after finishing as possible. If you are using a TCA dibber, please take care of it - any losses will cost £18

Prepare your bike, equipment and yourself, then go to the start 10:15 - 11:00am where you will be given your map. Take a few minutes to plan your route and off you go. Enjoy yourself!

Results will be calculated, printed and displayed periodically. There will be prizes for class winners at each event. League scores will be calculated and displayed on this website and the Prize Presentation for series leaders will be held at the final event on 19th March
