When Thistle arrived, it was the best thing that happened to me in many years.
She introduced me to the British Crested World, and I was in my element!
She was shown, and to my great delight qualified for CRUFTS, two years running.
Then tragedy struck. Her Lenses Luxated, and she underwent horrendous surgery to remove both Lenses. Recovery was painful, leaving her with no focusing vision. Her life was a BLURR.
Thistle is strong, and brave, but as the years went by her limited vision deteriorated, and at eight years of age she developed GLAUCOMA in her worst eye, and this had to be removed.
PLEASE LET THIS BE A REMINDER TO TEST ALL OUR CRESTEDS FOR THESE HORRIBLE, AND INHERITED DISEASES.
