The Ramblers' Association Ltd. promotes walking and love of the countryside and is a company Limited by guarantee, registered in England & Wales under Company Registration No.4458492 and is a Registered Charity in England & Wales No.1093577,

Members are assigned to a Group but pay their annual subscripions direct to the Ramblers' Association headquarters given above. New members will be assigned to a Group of their choice or, if this is not stated, to their nearest local Group. Members can walk with any other Group and can obtain their programmes for a small fee payable direct to the Group in question. Many Groups have web sites giving their programmes and contact details.

Prospective members are welcome to come on a few rambles before making up their minds about membership. Simply attend at a rendezvous in good time for the start of the walk.

Members receive two magazines four times a year:-
