The earliest sign of pregnancy is usually the absence of an expected menstrual period. The more regular a women's cycle the higher the suspicion if she is late.
Changes in appetite are very common in early pregnancy. A woman may be more or less hungry than usual. She may have changes in her preferences, craving things that she usually doesn't like or loosing her appetite for some of her usual favorites. Nausea and even vomiting can occur and may be brought on by many things, especially smells, but can develop with no stimulus needed.
Breast changes including swelling and pain or sensitivity can occur early in pregnancy. They may be similar to the usual pre-menstrual symptoms but are ofter greater and last longer. Itching or darkening of the nipples can also occur.
More frequent urination is common in early pregnancy but can also be due to a bladder infection or anxiety.
Being more tired than usual is common and extreme fatigue can occur.
Some women notice a lot of dizziness or lack of coordination.
A few women get personality changes or other mental changes like inability to concentrate.
