This is a selection of pictures taken on a trip to the Kelso Bikefest (BMF show) in the summer of 2002 (I think it was anyway). Was just 3 or 4 months after getting the Fazer and was the longest trip I had taken up to that point. I ended up covering about 850 miles in 5 days. Not a lot, but a good start. The weather was absolutely perfect, mid 20's for the whole weekend, and I just couldn't help going out on the bike for some blasts on my own. Even went out for a couple of hours at 7AM on a Saturday morning, and those who know me will probably gather that it must have been a very special occasion for me to be out that early.
You'll have to forgive the date on the pictures, it was the camera's fault and I have never gotten round to modifying them to remove or change the date. I would definitely recommend this even if you don't end up going to the show. We had 3 nights camping for £12, if I remember correctly, which isn't too bad if you just want a chilling out weekend. Some of the bike pictures are a bit on the grainy side because they were taken when it was getting dark on an evening ride (yes that is the moon in the sky in a couple of them). The helmet picture shows just how bad the Scottish midges can be in the evenings too. Must have given a strange impression stopping at the local co-op to buy chewing gum, coke and a packet of baby wipes just before they closed. Anyway, enjoy the pictures.
