Crossings such as Portsmouth – Caen take at least 6 hours and tend to be expensive.
Have you thought of ‘SpeedFerries’, travelling from Dover to Boulogne? Very competitive prices, efficient loading, a perfectly smooth crossing of approximately 50 mins, and an easy exit from a small harbour directly onto the motorway, make this route positively appealing! See ‘Useful Links’ for a direct link to SpeedFerries’website. From Boulogne, the A16 via Rouen to Bordeaux will take approximately 7 hours, and cost less than £30 in tolls. Or we can provide you with a slower, more scenic route on request.

By train :
Eurostar to Gare St Jean, Bordeaux (change Paris or Lille)

For guests not wishing to hire a car, it is usually possible to arrange a pick-up service from airports and station.
