Anglers fished Abbotsbury Beach on Sat 15th June 2002 from 8pm untill
1am. winner on the night was TONY McDONALD, who established a new league
record winning weight of 43lb 14ozs and he did that from peg 1, at the
farthest end of the beach. Tony caught 28 LS Dogfish, 3 Smoothhounds
and 3 Pout to make up his record winning weight. Runner-up in the competition
was REG CLOUGH from Salisbury who from peg 100 won zone D with the top
weight of 18lb 10z. Reg caught 6 Dogfish, 2 Pout, and a Poor Cod and
a Thornback Ray of 9lb 4ozs, the heaviest fish in zone. In third place
overall was STEVE DEATHE from Southampton who won zone B from peg 52
with the best zone weight of 14lb 7ozs, It was from there that he weighed
and returned 4 Smoothhounds, his best at 3lb 6ozs and 2 Dogfish which
was added to by a single Pout and Poor Cod. The 4th and final zone win
went to IAN DANCEY from Waterlooville. Ian won zone C from peg 64 with
a weight of 13lb 8ozs made up by 10 Dogfish and 2 Pout. |
