Weymouth
is unrivalled as a centre of excellence for the most varied and best
shore angling along the south coast for anglers of all abilities. By
far the most popular venue is Chesil Beach, which is perhaps the most
famous beach in Britain. It is certainly one of the most enjoyable venues
for most ISAC anglers with Cogden, West Bexington, Abbotsbury and Ferrybridge
the most popular marks with easy accessibility and parking. From these
locations many species may be caught with Bass, Cod, Eels, Garfish,
Gurnard, Mackerel, Plaice, Pollack, Pout, Smoothhounds, Sole, and Whiting
regularly caught. Cocktails of lugworm and ragworm work well for Plaice,
Mackerel
strips will account for Dogfish, Pout and Poor Cod. Peeler crabs are
the favoured bait for most species including Cod. |
