Showtime - The Weekly Wage Bill...
Practising Different Functions on a Spreadsheet
When you get to this stage you are beginning to use your knowledge about spreadsheets to work out problems independently. This spreadsheet looks at using a spreadsheet to work out how much the employees at Showtime Video Rentals get paid.
INSTRUCTIONS
Click Here with the Right Hand Button and select Save Target As
Save the spreadsheet in to your Yr 9 ICT folder and then open it
Work out how many hours each of the four workers do each week and type them in to the cells in column D
Use a formula in cell B19 to calculate what each worker earns in each week
When you have four weekly earnings add them on the the sheet called Wage Totals
Now use your knowledge of how to create a graph to show how much each worker earns clearly. Put the graph that you make on to the sheet called Earnings Graph. Who earns the most each week?
If you get this far try adding a function on each sheet that works out how much each worker pays in tax each week. Let us say that they pay tax at a rate of 20%
Use a function or formula to do this.
You have been seeing how a spreadsheet can be used to help organise and run Showtime Video Rentals
