Showtime Video Rentals - Spreadsheet 1 - Weekly
Income
Showtime use a spreadsheet programme to help work out
how much they make each week.
You have to create a spreadsheet for them to use using
a programme called Excel
Instructions on how to do it

First load up the programme Excel from Start
/ All Programs / Core programs

On a blank spreadsheet label the cells and enter the data
exactly
as above

Save your work early on as "Showtime Weekly Income" in your
Yr 9 ICT folder

Format cells C3 to C5 as currency (that is don't just type
in the £ sign)

Enter formulae in cells C19, D19 and E19 to add up the total
weekly rentals for each category
-
The formula for cell C19 is =SUM(C12:C18)

See if you can work out what goes in cells D19 and E19
Then:

Name cell C3 pricecodea
-
Name cell C4 pricecodeb
-
Name cell C5 pricecodec
To name a cell click on it to select it the go to Insert
/ Name / Define
Note that the cell names must not have spaces in them.
