Mr Lowe's Lessons...
Plough Farm Topic
Plough Farm uses lots of different documents. Each document has
a logo on it similar to the one that I have designed above.
Task-
For this task you will make a logo for Plough Farm using a drawing programme.
Design a Logo - Instructions
A logo is a small graphic that a company uses on all of
it's products and documents.
It may or maynot include text. I am sure that you could
describe some well known ones...
Here is a step by step guide on how to make a logo
using Serif Draw Plus.
Three Stages:
1 : Draw a shape for a Background
- Load up Serif Draw Plus. (Start menu / all programmes
/ core programmes)
- Click on Create a Drawing
- Double click on A4 paper size
- Draw a Rectangle with the Quick box tool
- Use the node tool to change the Rectangle
- You can also change the colour of this shape
2 : Put in the text
- Click on the text tool
- Click where you want to type the text
- Write the text that you want
- You can chang the font type and the colour of the text
- Use the "move" tool to move the text to where
you want it
- Use the "deform" tool to change the size of the
writing that you have done
- Now drag the text on to the background shape
3 : Put in a small picture
- Load Publisher and add an appropriate bit of clip art
- Copy and paste that clip art on to your logo in Serif Draw
- Drag all the pieces together to arrange your logo
- You might want to just draw a shape in Serif Draw to put
on to the background
Now Save your work!
Then you have to save
only the logo you have made as a GIF file...
This will allow you to put just the logo on to different documents
To do this:
-
Use the pointer tool to select all the parts of your logo
-
Select “group” from the arrange menu
-
Click on File and then “export”
-
Tick the transparency box
-
Make sure that GIF is selected in the Format window
-
Click Export
-
Give your file a name
- Save it in "My Documents" in a your year 8 ict
folder
You are now ready to put your logo on to different documents.
