Synoptic Situation at 0600 12/02/1963
next day
Shallow low over W Europe yesterday
has moved E and a ridge has moved slowly
SE towards NW GB. This ridge
will dominate the weather but weak frontal
troughs will advance slowly from
the Atlantic into NW districts. Russian
high, 1036 mb, persists, with
other high centres over Scandinavia and E
Greenland. Pressure remains
low in the Mediterranean with one centre near
Venice and another near a
triple point over the Pyrenees.
Weather over The British Isles:
Cloudy
in all areas, though clearer skies moved into the far NW overnight.
Light
rain and drizzle fell in S and E counties of England, sometimes
freezing and
with a little sleet or snow. Amounts were small everywhere.
Snow was
lying still over most areas except the very far SW and parts of N
Scotland
