Synoptic Situation at 0600 16/02/1963         next day

Low, 980 mb, W of Ireland has been filling.  A broad trough extends from the
depression across France to central Germany.  Minor lows have been moving E
across Spain and the Mediterranean.  A depression will move E across the
Atlantic and will approach Ireland tomorrow.  High, 1024mb, E Greenland,
stationary with cell over S Scandinavia, 1008mb, but the Russian high has
pulled back a little.
Milder air has been steadily moving E as far as Germany and the Alps.

Weather over the British Isles:

Cloudy in most parts all period, with rain in the far SW and sleet/snow
elsewhere.  Cardiff with 10 mm recorded the most (snow) with Guernsey 9 mm,
Plymouth 5 mm and Roches Point 9 mm.  Winds were from the SE or E, and
freshened overnight in all except the far SW.
