the English Channel, London to S Denmark and W Russia with a small low on it
over Denmark.  Low, 992mb, Azores, stationary.  High, 1016mb, Germany,
intensifying.  High N Scandinavia, 1016mb.  New low, 1015mb, just E of
Iceland, moving S.

Weather over the British Isles:

Snow persisted all day in the far S and SE as the trough became very slow
moving.  Thorney Island had a further 23mm, Gatwick 10mm, Plymouth 13mm and
Guernsey 27mm.  Further N it was a brighter day with a few wintry showers,
heaviest in the far N, in a NE airflow.  There were large accumulations in
southern areas.  Most places in the Br.Isles had snow cover at 0600.  Fog
formed in many places N of the snow.
