Lancashire Lanes, 12th September 2004
An excellent run, starting from Preston and taking a circular route of almost
100 miles. A lot of interesting cars were on the run, from cars as early as
1930's right up to modern Z's and TF's. There were midgets, B's and C's, and
even a Maestro, but a pity that no A's were on the run. In addition to the MG's
there was a Daimler, a Triumph GT6 and a Swallow Doretti (see the second picture
on the bottom row). Well over 50 cars in
total. The route took us North, through Morecambe and up to Silverdale. In
Morecambe we crossed paths with the Bradford to Morecambe Classic Car run, which
made for very interesting viewing! After Silverdale we swung in land and south
through parts of Bowland Forest on the way back to Preston. The weather held
until 1pm, and the it rained lightly for the rest of the day. None the less, it
was an excellent day and many thanks to Preston MG Enthusiasts who organised the
run.
