Birkenhead Park Exhibition

Hoylake Photographic Society are pleased to announce that they are exhibiting the work of their members for the second year at Birkenhead Park Visitor Center. The exhibition is open, free to the general public and will continue until 6th May.

Hello from the Festival of Firsts Arts Team

Time to register for a wonderful, Wirral Festival of Firsts 2012

Dates for your diary – Gallery Hoylake 23th June – July 8th 2012

Application Forms can be downloaded here

During Gallery Hoylake there will be exhibition space for groups at a number of venues. Please register your group as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Art on the Promenade and

Arts weekend at The Parade, Hoylake Community Centre July 7th & 8th 2012

For the Arts weekend we are looking for artists interested in either holding a workshop, demonstrating their skill or exhibiting and selling their work at The Parade, Hoylake Community Centre and other venues on the 7th and 8th July. The exhibition space will be on a first come, first served basis.

Please pass this information to other groups and individuals that may be interested in participating.

In order to help with our planning please would you contact me as soon as possible by phone or email. Please send an image of your work and a few words about yourself for possible inclusion on the website

Festival of the Firsts

Throughout the Festival of Firsts' weekend in July 2011, Rob Devenish, member of the Hoylake Photographic Society, extensively catalogued the event in a series of brilliant images. They say every picture tells a story, but Rob's photographs tell many stories of the huge success of the Wirral Festival of Firsts 2011.

Honours for HPS Members

At the PSA Conference in Colorado Springs, USA, Diana & Brian Magor were presented with certificates for "Excellence" - EPSA requiring a total number of 700 acceptances in international competitions

Margaret & John Sixsmith were also issued certificates awarding them "Proficiency" - PPSA requiring at least 288 acceptances in international competitions

New Rules for submitting Digital Images


Images should be jpgs sized at 1400 by 1050.  That means that the horizontal side must not exceed 1400 and the vertical side must not exceed 1050


Naming:- Entries for the main club competition should be titled as follows:- surname-initial-title
Example: carver-n-Meols sunset.jpg   

Entries for the Wednesday night group should be as- title-surname-initial.
Example:- reflections-magor-d.jpg 
This helps to randomise the images on the night.

Digital images for main club competitions must be submitted by email at
hpscomps@gmail.com Please do not submit images on CDs or memory sticks.  If this causes problem please discuss with Diana beforehand.

Digital images for the Wednesday Night Group should be submitted by email at hpswng@gmail.com at least 24 hours in advance.

Please note that you will not be issued with a sticker for the back of your print unless you specifically ask for one on the entry form.

Members' successes in the German Mega Circuit

 

Congratulations to Barry Quatermass who had 21 acceptances in the German Mega Circuit Digital Competition. Other member successes include Brian Magor (14) and Diana Magor (11)
