Summary of Committee report
The Society has had a good year, although the membership has remained stable at 32.  The Committee has remained almost unchanged for some years and would benefit from a few more volunteers to help run the Society.

An interesting programme of summer meetings was held in 2005, including a flower walk at Sheepleas, an excursion to Thursley Common in search of dragonflies and other wildlife and flora, several moth evenings, a geology walk from Newlands Corner, and a lichen study on Arbrook Common.  In addition, David Morgan selected a number of Surrey Wildlife Trust walks to support, including one to Thundry Meadows on flowers and another to Bookham Common on woodland butterflies and birds.  In November Brian Spooner led a Fungus Foray at Lightwater Country Park, and Chris Brading led a New Year bird walk round the Papercourt area.  The winter lecture programme has generally been both interesting and successful and has been well supported.  (See this and previous Bulletin issues for reports.)

Ken and Begoņa Hudson have produced the quarterly Bulletin to a very high standard.  These are now fully computerised and those members on e-mail can receive them direct, which saves considerably on photocopying and postage.  Colin and Patricia Poyton have developed an excellent website which is both a source of information and a means of advertising the Society.  The Committee would like to thank all of them, the contributors, and the distributor, as well as recorders for their loyal support throughout the year.
