The league commences the year with the Thompson Shield. This is the competition for the Captain's and Vice Captain's of the sixteen clubs which make up the league.

The competition was played at the Northumberland Golf Club on Sunday 18th April 2010

• Winners were Northumberland Golf Club - David Row & Mike Barlow 73 + 1.4 = 74.4
• Second were Tyneside Golf Club Ron Turnbull & John Turner 75 + 0.6 = 75.6
• Third were Whitley Bay Golf Club John Teward & John Hewison 85 - 9.2 = 75.8

·         Best Gross Newbiggin Golf Club Ron Taylor & Les Dawson 71

As Northumberland won the event, they will host the event at Northumberland Golf Club on Sunday TBA

The first league matches of the new season will start on Thursday 29th April 2010.

The Players Championship will be held on Sunday 19th September 2010 at City of Newcastle Golf Club.

The Annual Dinner will be held on Friday 29th October 2010 at The Assembly Rooms.

The AGM will be held at the Gosforth Golf Club on Wednesday 1st December 2010.
