The league
commences the year with the Thompson Shield. This is the competition for the
Captain's and Vice Captain's of the sixteen clubs which make up the league.
The competition was played at the Northumberland Golf Club on Sunday 14th April 2013
- Winners were Blyth Golf Club David Grey & Tom Hellawell 77-4 = 73
- Second were Newcastle United Golf Club Bob Lockhart & Jim Anderson 82-6 =76

As Blyth G. C. won the event, they
will host the event at Blyth Golf Club on TBA April 2014
The first league matches of the new season
will start on Thursday 2nd May 2013.
