Briantcroft George Road,
Milford-on-Sea, Lymington, Hampshire, SO41 ORS
Telephone: 01590 644355
Briantcroft was built in the Edwardian era (1908) by William Ravenscroft,
a well-known architect, based originally in Reading. He had the house built
for his retirement but even during his retirement was designing houses for
residents in the area. The houses he designed are recognisable by the gables
and the tile-edged archways above the recessed front door. Briantcroft, his
own residence, has both. Michael & Florence Iles take pleasure in endeavouring
to bring Edwardian grace and elegance back to the house. Briantcroft, since
William Ravenscroft's death in 1943, has been a "Finishing School" for South
Hampshire ladies, a residential home for Polish refugees and recently a Bed
& Breakfast with a difference.
