News About Our New Trailer
At a lunch, earlier this year President John presented a cheque to Bill Brown of the International Aid Trust. This was to purchase a new and larger trailer to replace the previous one. The new one will be over 40ft long. Appart from complying with new European Transport rules it will be able to carry more aid to where it is needed. With President John and Bill was Jim Collier of the District International Committee and the Ashton with Haydock Rotary Club.
Here we see President John Shaw, Secretary Austin Polding, and Rotarians Bob Thomson and Jim Collier with the newly badged trailer ready to roam Eastern Europe full of AID. The Trailer will be used, not just to transport Rotary Shoeboxes to District's recipients in Eastern European countries, but also to deliver other humanitarian aid to the similar locations. By Easter of 2005, it had already covered more than 40,000 miles in return journeys to Rumania and beyond.
