Dalby event will start at 12:00hrs in the same location as
previous events.
Inform the Toll Booth attendant that you are participating in
the Fire Service MTB event and he/she will issue a free pass
(cost incorporated into event entry). Follow the forest drive
down the hill to Dalby village. Turn right at the 1st tarmac
turn and then immediately right again (turns from tarmac to
forest fire road) as directed by the FIRE MTB signs. Follow this
for 3/4 mile to a left turn signed Flax Dale where there will be
parking on the left turning circle area.
Please proceed with caution along the fire road there is a
possibility of the horse & cart operating here (max 20mph speed
limit in forest).

Police & Fire Road Race Championship details as follows:
Date: Sun 16th Aug
Start: 1000 hrs
Distance: approx 56 miles?(5 or 6 laps of "undulating" 8.9 mile
loop)
Terrain; NO recognised climb of note, however, one small "big
chainring" dig after a sharp left hand bend.Roads are mainly
quiet B roads,well tarmaced.
Event HQ: Staunton & Course Village Hall, Staunton, Glos (west
of Tewkesbury)
Race Fee: £15 in advance £25 on the day.Cheques payable to Mike
Horsman, 18 Station Road, berkley, Gloucester GL13 9AJ.
Buffet: Staunton WI
Accom:Tewkesbury Travelodge £39 twin room/Gloucester (10-15
miles from circuit)

Cannock Chase |
Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service, host the penultimate
round of the
National MTB Race championships, at Cannock Chase on the 23d of
September 2009.
This may be the last race Staffordshire will host, as the
Forestry are
imposing so many restrictions on Cannock Chase for MTB events in
the future.
So I hope we get a large turn out from Fire Service riders.
The race will start at 1230hrs and registration will open at
1100hrs.
The race will comprise of 2 x 4.5 mile laps for Veterans,
Females and
Novices.
3 x 4.5 Mile laps for Sports (18 to 29 years of age) and Masters
(30 to 40
years of age)
The race distance and number of laps may change on the day, if
the weather
is inclement!
The venue for the event has a slight change this year.

Race course: mixed woodland, single track ,
bridleway, single track climb, open moorland , single technical
downhill.
Course length: 5 mile loop approx
Course inspection: the race course will be open
to all competitors pre race from 1100 - 1230 hours
Race distance: Sport/Masters 4 or 5 laps -
Vets/Super Vets and Ladies 3 or 4 laps (race distance will be
dictated by the weather conditions prior to the race and after a
course inspection on the day.
Race categories: Sport 18 - 29 yrs
Masters 30 - 39 yrs
Vets 40 - 49 yrs
Super Vets 50+
Ladies
Trophies/Medals: will ONLY
be presented by the organisor if there are
MORE than 6 entries in the category. If 6
or less competitors the winner will only receive a Trophy/Medal.
Prizes: we are hoping to "blag" enough prizes
to be able to present to top 3 riders in each category, however,
please be aware that we will strictly adhere to 1 prize 1 winner
and the final decision will be the race organisors.
Facilities: toilet/changing facilities are at
the Flatts Lane Woodland Country Park visitors centre. Anyone
requiring a post race/trophy/prize presentation shower is very
welcome to visit our local Grangetown Fire station (less than 1
mile from race venue).
Buffet: a light post race buffet/hot and cold
drinks will be available to competitors and supporters after the
presentation (approx 1530 hours?).
