NEWSLETTER No. 15 - Summer 1986
WEST MIDLANDS BRANCH, BUTTERFLY CONSERVATION
Shropshire Invertebrate Group
As part of their recording work this year a series of field meetings have been
arranged to sites within the county of invertebrate interest. BBCS members are
very welcome to attend any of these meetings and further details are available
from the Branch Organiser (see also Summer programme for details of joint SIG/BBCS
meetings):
17th May - Wenlock Edge; 31st May - Mortimer Forest; 19th July - Highley/Kinlet
area
2nd August - Catherton Common/Chorley Covert; 16th August - Brown Moss
1986 Coach trip
Other Field Trips
These need not be booked in advance and it is O.K. for people to turn up
on the day. The advantage of booking, however, is that if we know you are coming
we will always wait 10 mins or so at the start and leave directions if possible.
Norfolk Weekend
The special weekend excursion to see the Swallowtail announced at the Slide
Evening in March is now fully booked. If there is sufficient demand we will
consider repeating the trip next year; otherwise we are happy to provide help
and advice to anyone wanting to make their own arrangements for another weekend
- please contact Margaret Vickery.
Typing
With our regular typist, Tony Hatton, excused duty this time owing to
impending O-levels, thanks are due to Jenny Allen and Margaret Vickery who
between them have undertaken the bulk of the typing for this issue.
