No. 38 NEWSLETTER Winter 1997
WEST MIDLANDS BRANCH, BUTTERFLY CONSERVATION
Note from the (new) Editor
Hello!
I must admit to feeling somewhat daunted when asked if I would take over from
such an experienced editor as Margaret Vickery. It is inevitable that, with a
change in editor, there is a change of style. Apart from page layout, I have
pretty well confined editorial interference to spelling adjustments (few,
including myself can apparently spell millennium!). I hope that everyone will
bear with me until I get it right and overlook any errors that may have crept
in. As always, articles, comments, letters or anything else you can think of are
very welcome. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all contributors to
this issue. Notes for contributors are on page 14.
My husband and I live in Harborne, some two miles from the centre of Birmingham.
As a city- dwelling motorcar-phobe, much of my butterfly watching is carried out
in the garden or on our nearby allotments. We visit our plots daily and logged
15 butterfly species this year; not bad within sight of the infamous Rotunda!
