EVENTS DIARY
JANUARY 2007
20th January (Saturday) - Conservation Task - Haugh Woods
For all work parties meet at the barrier opposite the car park in
Haugh Wood (grid ref: SO592365) at 10.00am. We will finish work around 3.00pm,
but you can leave whenever you want to – any time you can spare is a bonus. We
have 2 main areas to work in over the 4 work parties so there's plenty to do.
Please wear appropriate warm/waterproof clothing and sturdy boots or shoes, and
bring a packed lunch if you are staying all day.
If you would like to come along, please phone Kate Wollen, (Forestry Commission
Wildlife Ranger) on 07786526280, or contact Anna Jordan, Herefordshire
Woodlands Project Officer
tel: 01531 635234 ; mobile 07960 616320 ; email: ajordan@butterfly-conservation.org
21st January (Sunday) - Brown Hairstreak Egg Hunt - Grafton Wood.
Meet 10:00 am at Three Parishes Hall, Grafton Flyford (next to the church). Just off the A422 Worcester to Stratford road.
The information gathered will be used to advise local landowners
on how best to manage their land to protect this butterfly, which only occurs in
this one small area in the West Midlands.
