Volunteer Work Parties
October – December 2006


Help to restore Prees Heath to heathland and grassland for the benefit of wildlife and for people to enjoy quiet recreation, and be part of this long-term high profile project. Enjoy a day in the open air.


Wednesday 11th October -  Access work and litter clearance, near Warren House.

Saturday 28th October - ‘Make a Difference Day’ Scrub clearance,  near access track.

Wednesday 8th November - Scrub clearance, runway.

Sunday 19th November - Sign installation & litter clearance, access track & towards the grain stores.

Wednesday 6th December - Scrub clearance, towards grain stores.

Saturday 16th December - Scrub clearance, runway


All work parties start at 10.30am and finish at 4.00pm
Come for half a day or all day, as you wish
No previous experience required – you will be shown how to use the hand tools
Work at your own pace

Meet on the access track off the A49 opposite the Steel Heath turning, apart from on Wednesday 11th October when the meeting point is outside the Midway Truck Stop

Wear suitable clothing and footwear
Bring a packed lunch and a drink
All tools and gloves are provided
