Name...
The name of the organisation is M.E/ C.F.S Self Help (Nottingham)

 

Aims & Objectives...
To provide mutual support and friendship to people who have or have had M.E/ C.F.S in the Greater Nottingham area.  To arrange regular meetings to share experiences, personal coping strategies and positive approaches to life.  To organise events, outings and activities, which promote social inclusion, enhance well-being and reduce anxiety and stress.
To raise awareness in the community about M.E.
To facilitate the development of M.E Services in Nottingham and to campaign for better treatment.

 

Membership...
Full membership is open to those who have or have had M.E/ C.F.S
Associate Membership is also open to carers and supporters of those with M.E/ C.F.S.  (They would not normally come to the monthly support meeting except in an enabling role).
Every full member has a vote at general meetings.The membership of any member may be terminated if his or her actions are deemed, by the group, to be detrimental to the well-being of the group or other members.

 

Decision Making...
A co-ordinating group will meet at least four times a year to plan activities and deal with matters that arise.
For the meeting to be quorate, at least 3 members must be present.
At the annual meeting there will be a chair, secretary and treasurer elected by a simple majority vote.
Where necessary, there is scope for these roles to be shared.

 

Finances...
Any money obtained by the group will be used only for the group.
Any bank accounts opened for/by the group will be in the name of the group.
The treasurer will be responsible for opening and maintaining a bank account.Any Cheques issued must be signed by two of four signatories agreed by the group.

 

Dissolution...
The Group can be wound up after a democratic consultation process with all members.  Any funds or assets remaining after liabilities have been met shall be returned to the grant making bodies if not completely spent on the purpose for which they were given.
