Welcome ,
I am a mature amateur photographer and got interested in digital photography after purchasing a new Epson printer a few years back. With the printer came a copy of Photoshop Deluxe and this was the cause of the bug biting. I was able to borrow a friends digital camera for a fortnight and was amazed at what I could do with both the camera and Photoshop.
I started with an Olympus Camedia c-830L 1.3 mgp point-and-shoot digital camera, progressed to the Olympus Camedia c-730 Ultra Zoom, which I found a tremendous learning tool with its manual and automatic modes, and am now using a Panasonic Lumix FZ30, which I find is as near a digital SLR as can be without actually being so. It suits my 'spontaneous' type of photography perfectly, especially not having to carry about extra lenses. Images from the FZ30 on site under Basing House slideshow.
My ability with Photoshop outgrew the Deluxe version and I now use version 7 and have built a reputation for producing good results manipulating/repairing the snaps brought to me. I have built myself a good 'digital darkroom' and, since retiring, have a lot more time to devote myself to photography.
I am the 'official' photographer for the SPOTS annual pantos put on by my ex-colleagues. They totally create the shows in their own time, from the scripts to the scenary building, costume making, music and lighting. All proceeds are donated to various charities and I feel honoured to be a part of it all. I have also recently completed nine days as photographer for my local council during the Festival of Arts & Leisure, (select Events to view).
I would appreciate any comments you have on my efforts so far, both in photography/digital manipulation and the site itself. Please contact me via the facility on my new site. I am willing to use my expertise on any photos you may need repairing or changing. I am also willing to pass on any advice I can to those interested in the field.Use the button/s on the left to navigate the site.
Enjoy,
Norrie February 2007
