BUTLER AND CHU IN NO MOOD TO FALTER

George Butler and Haywood Chu both had to survive three ends of action to win the men's singles titles at the 2008 North Devon Badminton Bonanza over the weekend.
Holsworthy's Butler edged out Ilfracombe's Yasir Iqual 16-21, 21-18, 21-16 to win the social section, while Grenville College's Chu beat Bideford's Alan Waistell 21-15, 19-21, 21-17 in the league category.
In the social ladies' singles, Jacky Ford of Bideford was the winner against Sara Milburn from Fremington.
And in the social mixed doubles, there was a closed finish in the round robin group stages where David Greenaway (Bridgwater) and Jenny Fletcher (Taunton) edged out Chris Read (Sturminster Newton) and Sadie Turner (Salisbury) by three points.
