Ashurst and Colbury - A Celebration of the last 100 years by Georgina Babey

Published in 2000 this book is a millenium celebration of the last 100 years of Ashurst and Colbury, situated at the Gateway to the New Forest, a few miles from Southampton in Hampshire. Colbury has ancient origins as a settlement but at the beginning of the twentieth century Ashurst was known, simply, as Lyndhurst Road - the name of the railway station. It was not until the 1920's and 30's that it developed its own identity and not until 1995 was the railway station renamed - Ashurst (New Forest). 28 b&w illustrations.
