The King Charles' Head, Goring Heath (4.5m)

Website-on-pub (Goring Heath is some way from Goring).
About seventeen miles from Newbury along the A4 then the A340 to Pangbourne. Go over the (20p) toll bridge to Whitchurch, and up the hill. Fork R at the top and turn R at a T junction. The pub is just over a mile down this road, over one crossroads. Entrance to the main car park is after the garden, about 150yds past the pub.
A pleasant pub with an excellent garden. Beer is OK as is the food, though it can be on the pricey side. They specialise in Thai food.

Turn R from the pub, and in about 200yds sharply R into a wood. The FP descends slightly then rises to meet a metalled lane in 800yds. Cross this and take the FP on the other side, and go R again in 200yds. This FP continues through woods, then comes out in fields and rises to meet a road. Cross this and take the track on the other side, leaving this by a stile on the R after 400yds. The FP then descends steeply into a dry valley, where turn R following the valley bottom into a wood. 500yds further on, take a sharp turn back to the L and traverse uphill, eventually coming out into the open with a view of the River Thames. The FP now descends steeply to a crossing track, where turn R. In 700yds, by Hardwick House, take the track to the R and follow this uphill to another R turn, the track from which descends to the dry valley then rises up the other side. Take the R fork at a Y junction, go over a crossing track to find a FP that goes SO by the side of a wood to the pub.
