PREFABS.
All parts required have been removed from the site at Rogerstone. Mr F Baffled is the foreman of the works committee.
(Ed’s Note. I remember this day very well. There was snow on the ground and it was very cold. We dismantled two prefabs and loaded them on a lorry in which they were conveyed to the Hall. It was hard work lifting the metal sections and the heavy wooden floorboards.)
TREASURER’S BOOK.
This has not yet been audited but both Mrs F Banfield and Mrs B Samuel have agreed to do the job.
ANNUAL DINNER.
£66.7.0d was taken for tickets and when all bills are paid there will be 315 clear.
Regarding the letter I sent to the Chris Banks agency. I have not received a reply and so Mr J Harris proposed, second by Mrs L Saunders that Mr F Banfield goes and ‘thumps’ the table of their office.
SITE WORKS COMMITTEE.
This committee will meet on Sunday April 6th at the Hall . £3 has been paid out for the cement blocks.
CHILDREN’S PARTY.
This is to be held on Saturday 19th April for village children up to the age of 15. Mrs L Saunders will arrange the food for about 70 children. Films will be given if possible, by either Brooke Bond Ltd or Road Safety.
A special invitation will be sent to the committee member’s children who do not live in the village.
They are Claire Robbins, Ruth Bibby, Bronwen Jones, and Mark Saunders. A meeting will be held on Monday April 4th to finalise the party arrangements.
CWMBRAN CARNIVAL.
This is to be held on June 21st. If we wish to have a stall on the field someone must represent us at all their meetings.

Sec by Mrs G Bibby. That Mr F Banfield represent us. We will take the Flashing Lights stall. Mrs G Bibby proposed that the cheer group be dressed in some sort of uniform.
OAP’s.
They have not yet been approached about afternoon sessions at the Hall. This will be done when the weather is warmer.
COMMUNITY COUNCIL.
Mr D Williams attended the meeting on our behalf. We may have to be registered with a charitable organisation to avoid being taxed. Mr Williams will inquire into the matter. He will also inquire into any grants we may able to claim for extention to the Hall.
OWN FETE.
Date. Saturday 19th July. Mr J Harris will inquire of Mr R Roberts if we can use the little Gelli field.

Sec by Mrs G Bibby that there be a flower Queen and four attendants as well as the Carnival Queen and attendants. An amendment proposed by Mr G Bibby , Second Mr J Harris that there be only a Carnival Queen with two attendants aged 12 – 18 and three under 12 years old. This amendment was carried by 7 votes to 5.
The Queen and attendants will provide own dresses. They will be given cash prizes of £5 the Queen, £2 each court lady. £1 each flower girl.
The choosing of the Queen will take place on 11th June at 7.0 clock, it will be advertised with local posters and an item in the Advertiser
A Charge of 6d will be made to enter the Hall and teas will be provided.
