Mr J Harris took the chair.

All present were in favour of writing to Cwmbran band to play in the Fete.

Mr L Harris will make inquiries about a field for the Fete.

If possible the main attraction will be a Tug O War for men.

Mr G Bibby requests that the proceeds of his stall go to the Spastic Society.

Inquires to be made to Cwmbran Council and Corporation into the hire or loan of a lorry to carry that carnival queen.

Mr J Harris took the chair.

Cwmbran band have accepted the request to attend the carnival but ask for a van to convey large instruments. This is to be arranged.

Sec by F Banfield. That the floats in the carnival be for charitable organisations and local villagers.

An entrance fee of 5/- be charged for floats and 1/- for walking classes.

Mr R Roberts has promised to make his field available for the Fete if he has removed the hay.

Sec by M Robbins to ask Mr Willis for the field that was use last year.

Letters were written to both Cwmbran Council and Corporation for hire or loan of a lorry but both have refused. It is now suggested to ask Mon Farmers and Corona Soft Drinks.

Mr M Robbins has contacted a Trio dance band for £13 for a dance on the evening of fete from 8.30pm to 12 o'clock.

The bar for the dance will be given to Mr H Burton if he will supply draught beer.

Volunteers to decorate the Queen's lorry were asked for but there were none. Mr F Banfield can obtain a box of crepe paper from Holidays 15% off a box. All in favour to purchase.

M Robbins has been writing to various pubs in Cwmbran & District to see if they have a Tug O War teams interested in coming to the Fete. So far without replies. Teams to pull a 9 gallon barrel of beer.

Stalls for fete as last meeting.

Mr E Stephens and Mr R Roberts to be asked if they would run the Bingo stall. Mrs F Banfield will be in charge of cake stall. The ladies entertainers will have a stall.

It was suggested to ask first Mrs O Bowker then Mr O James to open the fete and crown the Queen.

Mr M Robbins will ask his wife about obtaining the crown.

Arrangements where also discussed at this meeting for the Cwmbran carnival on Saturday 21st June.

The next meeting to discuss the fete will be on Thursday June 26th
